Road Committee to amend LGAP scope after Atmos Energy declines Pleasant Hill gas-line tap

The Winn Parish Road Committee learned Aug. 16 that Atmos Energy would not perform a pipeline tap to serve a generator for the Pleasant Hill Water System, and members directed staff to change the LGAP application scope.
Mr. Frank McLaren told the Committee that "Atmos Energy does not want to do this," explaining one reason was the need to tap into a pipeline right-of-way that Atmos said would not be beneficial. The Jury instructed Engineer Henry Shuler to amend the LGAP project scope and apply for funds for Cole Road instead, because the Parish currently has two open LGAP projects and must close one before becoming eligible for additional rounds. McLaren also reported that other funds remain obligated to Pleasant Hill if the utility issue is resolved.
The Committee’s action was a direction to staff to amend the application; no LGAP award or contract change was recorded at the meeting.
