Troup County commissioners voted to authorize a temporary part-time position for the juvenile court and to accept supplemental funding tied to a newly launched infant-and-toddler court program.
Michelle Bowman of juvenile court described the program as “a new program, from HRSA to Georgia State University, and we were awarded 60,000 initially,” and said the county received an $18,585 supplemental award to contract for peer-support/fatherhood engagement services. Bowman told the board the supplemental award is reimbursable and requires no county match. Commissioner motions to allow the temporary posting and to accept the supplemental funding were moved, seconded and approved.
The board recorded no public opposition during the discussion. Staff indicated the positions and grant administration would follow standard hiring and reimbursement processes.
