Council approves appointments and a slate of resolutions including payroll and a driveway servitude

On Jan. 7 the council approved Resolution 26-01 (appointing Jamoine Picou to the Planning Commission) and adopted resolutions 26-02 through 26-07 covering payroll disbursements, payables, vehicle bidding, a driveway servitude with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (1889 West Main Street, Lutcher), a veterans cooperative agreement, and a Vacherie Senior Center change order.

The St. James Parish Council unanimously adopted Resolution 26-01 to appoint Jamoine Picou to the parish Planning Commission as the volunteer fire-department representative.
Council also approved a series of resolutions during its Jan. 7 meeting: 26-02 (approve disbursement of payroll numbers 1, 2 and 3 for January 2026), 26-03 (approve disbursement of funds to pay pending current invoices and payables), 26-04 (authorize the Office of the Parish President to advertise and take bids for Emergency Preparedness vehicles), 26-05 (authorize the parish to enter into a driveway access servitude agreement with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for property at 1889 West Main Street, Lutcher), 26-06 (authorize the parish president to sign a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs), and 26-07 (accept Change Order #4 from B.E.T. Construction, Inc. for the Vacherie Senior Center project). All resolutions were adopted after roll-call votes with Councilman Neal Poche absent.
