Parish warns against flushing wipes; crews removing illegal tire dump

Parish President Peter Dufresne told the council that crews have encountered repeated problems with residents flushing baby wipes and other non-flushable items, saying those materials "can destroy our sewer system pumps." "Please, do not flush any materials that's not deemed flushable, down our sewer system because it's been causing break-downs in our system," he said.
Dufresne also said the solid-waste and litter-abatement divisions are removing an illegal tire dump south of the Baytree subdivision, removing over 200 tires at the request of the Sheriffs Office, and that crews are doing a sixth full clean of Collin's Street. He asked residents to report illegal dumping to help keep the community clean.
