State Patrol seeks 50 recruits for mid-July class; Buffalo County has two troopers

Jason Bakken reported the Wisconsin State Patrol is recruiting for its next full six-month trooper class, which he said will start in mid-July and for which the agency is "looking to hire 50." He added the State Patrol has run lateral classes in recent years but is not running one currently.
Bakken noted Buffalo County currently has two troopers, identified in the minutes as Trooper Kent and Trooper Brunner. The update was provided for the commission’s situational awareness; no recruiting actions were taken by the commission itself.
