Parish president announces road preservation bid date and canal work; contractor on site for Humble Phase 4

During his Jan. 7 report Parish President Peter Dufresne said the bid opening for the road preservation program was rescheduled to Jan. 22, 2026, to allow staff time to answer contractor questions. He also announced the Buddy Whitney Canal project bid opening will be Feb. 3, 2026, which covers re-profiling canal banks and concrete lining.
Dufresne reported the Humble Phase 4 contractor, Triumph Construction, is on site establishing a lay-down yard on St. James Street and will replace the main drainage trunk line from South Angelle Street to Riley Street. He said the 2025 road rehab program design is approximately 90% complete, with a February meeting scheduled to finalize plans and coordinate funding for advertising and bidding to follow.
