Comptroller points supervisors to GASB video series to help read the county's ACFR

The comptroller's audit office presented an informational item about a new video training series from the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) aimed at helping elected officials understand the county's annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR). "The video collection, which is hotlinked in our report, includes 16 videos each ranging from 5 to 10 minutes in length," Jennifer Folliard said. She described a three-part introduction plus 13 topic videos and advised members they could watch individual videos or the full series and that it is easiest to view them with the ACFR available.
Folliard said the audit office routinely submits the countywide audit packet in September and suggested supervisors might review the 2024 ACFR now or the 2025 ACFR when released in August to follow along with the videos. The presentation was informational; no committee action was requested.
