Committee approves mosquito-spraying assistance for Camp Minden event

The Road/Subdivision Regulations Committee voted Feb. 18 to approve assistance for mosquito spraying at Camp Minden ahead of the McKenzie Archery Shooters Association Easton/Hoyt Pro/Am Tour Tournament. Eric Hudson, Parish Engineer, told the committee the cost would be approximately $380 and the work would require about three hours of crew time.
"Camp Minden requested assistance with mosquito spraying as done in previous years," Hudson said, and he added that if the committee approves he would place the item on the March 3 regular agenda. A motion by John Ed Jorden to approve the request was moved earlier in the meeting by Julian Darby and seconded by Doug Rimmer; the chairman called for a vote and the motion carried unanimously.
The committee’s approval will send the request to the full police jury on March 3 for final action. No additional funding sources beyond routine parish operations were specified in the committee discussion.
