St. James Council adopts routine resolutions and appointments in unanimous votes

At the Jan. 21 meeting the council unanimously adopted several resolutions including payments of current invoices, authorization to sign a CivicPlus contract, acceptance of a change order for EOC renovations, CAA designation for DHR, LIHEAP authority, and temporary secretary privileges; Kathleen Favorite was appointed to the Economic Development Board.
The St. James Parish Council adopted a package of routine resolutions and an appointment during its Jan. 21 meeting. Among the items approved by roll call votes (each recorded as 7-0 where noted) were: approval of disbursement of funds to pay current invoices (Res. 26-10); authorization for the Parish President to sign a contract with CivicPlus (Res. 26-11); acceptance of Change Order #3 for the Emergency Operations Center exterior renovations (Res. 26-12); designation of the Department of Human Resources as the official Community Action Agency for federal FY2026 (Res. 26-13); authority for the Parish President and/or Human Resources Director to sign FY2026 CSBG contracts (Res. 26-14); authorization to sign FY2026 LIHEAP program applications and related documents (Res. 26-15); and temporary secretary privileges for Tammie Bodin until Linda Hubbell's retirement (Res. 26-16).
A separate appointment resolution (Res. 26-09) named Kathleen Favorite as the District 5 representative to the St. James Parish Economic Development Board. All listed resolutions and the appointment were adopted unanimously as recorded in the meeting minutes. No ordinance votes occurred; a proposed ordinance to establish a Board of Building Code Appeals was introduced and set for a Feb. 4 public hearing.
