Tevis Smith presented the St. James Parish Recreation Department annual report, outlining the office functions, fitness center operations, sporting activities, district park maintenance, and 2025 events and accomplishments.
Parish President Peter Dufresne also encouraged attendance at a senior-focused event: "This is always a great event for our seniors, and I'd encourage you to attend if you are able to," he said about the Krewe of the Young at Heart Carnival Social scheduled for Feb. 5 at Rose's Catering. Recreation staff provided an overview of programs and accomplishments from 2025 and noted ongoing activities for district parks and youth sports.
The presentation was informational; no formal action was taken. Staff said the recreation office will continue scheduled programs and follow up with council members about district-specific park needs when requested.
