Commissioner reports new blade demo, broom repair costs and paving treatment prices

The report also covered paving treatments: “J Bond” tack oil is used for centerline paving; RPE (a pavement preservation treatment) was reported at $35,000 per mile when sprayed immediately behind the paver and would extend the life of the surface so it could be eight years before needing chipseal. Committee members noted chipseal is usually done within 3–4 years after paving at about $21,000 per mile.
