Committee declines to lock in fuel contract; stays with Pehler for now
Summary
Following bid openings from Allied and Pehler, Buffalo County decided not to enter a fuel contract at this time and will continue to purchase fuel on an as-needed basis from Pehler.
Bids for county fuel were opened and read aloud. Allied quoted $2.685 per gallon at the Alma shop and $2.885 at other shops. Pehler quoted $2.703 per gallon at the Alma shop and $2.919 at other shops. The minutes note Alcivia is not an actual contract bid.
Mr. Ruff moved and Mr. Sendelbach seconded a motion to not contract fuel at this time and to continue using Pehler for on-demand fueling; the motion carried. The committee did not adopt a multi-site contract after comparing the bids and electing flexibility in vendor use.
