During his directors report, Danny Gardner said Iron County has budgeted $30,000 for server upgrades in the ICSD and another $30,000 for a countywide Windows 11 hardware refresh. Gardner noted that Windows 10 support ends in October, and the county expects to carry out the hardware refresh this summer; he is obtaining quotes and exploring vendors who will buy back obsolete but functional equipment.
Gardner also described county disposal procedures: hard drives are pulled from retired county computers, wiped, and destroyed before disposal. Committee members discussed timelines and vendor options but did not take a formal vote at this meeting.
