Mayville council reviews schematic designs and timeline for new EMS building

Kevin Flanagan, of Keller, presented schematic drawings and a proposed schedule for a new EMS building and stressed the current plans are conceptual, not bid documents. "What we have right now are just conceptual drawings," Flanagan said, explaining that the team will produce full mechanical, electrical and plumbing documentation only after design refinement and engineering evaluation.
Flanagan described an approximately 8,300-square-foot facility with double-stacked rig bays, transition zones for contamination control, a shared office and conference area, showers and clustered restrooms, a training room and a mezzanine for storage. He outlined next steps: refinement through September, heavy plan production September–November (50–70 plan pages), aiming to get documents out to bid by February with construction to begin in spring if approvals and funding align. Chair (Speaker 2) and council members discussed how involved they want to be in finish-level decisions and whether to hold community engagement sessions as plans progress.
