The Ward County Commission met in a special session on Jan. 6, 2026, called to order by Chairman/Commissioner Fjeldahl at 12:37 PM. Commissioners Rostad, Merritt, Olson and Schuler were present; HSZ Director Kristi Frederick also attended.
The only substantive item recorded in the minutes was a phone interview with Krista Opstedal for an open seat on the Human Service Zone Board, followed by a motion to appoint her. Commissioner Rostad moved the appointment; Commissioner Schuler seconded. The minutes record a roll-call vote with five yes votes and the motion passing. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:55 PM. The minutes were signed and attested as accepted on Jan. 20, 2026.
