Miami County begins administrator search; commissioners to set interview goals

Chair told the commission that notices for the county administrator position have been distributed and the hiring process is underway. "Notices have went out for that position, so they will be accepting applications," he said, and asked commissioners to think about what they want the administrator to achieve in one, three and five years so interview panels can vet candidates against shared goals.

Commissioners discussed residency expectations, possible contract length (two years mentioned as a starting point), and the schedule for vetting applicants. Staff will compile a goals list and present it at the next meeting to structure interviews; no appointment was made at this session.
