Police Jury moves two Bossier City precincts to Asbury United Methodist Church

The Bossier Parish Police Jury unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 5095 on March 3 to relocate the polling places for Precincts 02-4-1 and 02-4-2 from Airline Baptist Church, 4007 Airline Drive, to Asbury United Methodist Church, 3200 Airline Drive, in Bossier City. Ashley Ezell, Parish Secretary, announced the public hearing and the motion to approve was offered by Chris Marsiglia and seconded by Jimmy Cochran; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
The ordinance records that Precinct 02-4-1 contains 781 registered voters (597 white, 122 Black, 62 other) and Precinct 02-4-2 contains 699 registered voters (569 white, 78 Black, 52 other). The ordinance states the physical move is 0.6 miles and "would have no effect on voter registration or racial balance." It also directs that notice of the change be published in the parish journal and submitted to the Louisiana Department of Elections, and declares the change effective immediately.
