Jury authorizes travel for Secretary-Treasurer and pays training costs for JPs and Constables

The Police Jury authorized Secretary-Treasurer Sharonda Brown to attend the LEMC Educational Conference (Oct. 21–23) and approved registration, hotel and travel expenses for Justices of the Peace and Constables to attend the JPC Training Conference (Nov. 13–14). The St. Helena Parish Police Jury authorized Sharonda Brown, Secretary-Treasurer, to attend the 2024 LEMC Educational Conference Oct. 21–23 in Lafayette, LA. The authorization was made by Mrs. Quanika H. Muse, seconded by Mr. Willie Morgan, and carried unanimously.
Separately, the Jury approved payment of registration, hotel and travel expenses for Justices of the Peace and Constables to attend the 2024 JPC Training Conference in Lake Charles Nov. 13–14, 2024. That motion passed on a recorded vote with YEAS from Quanika H. Muse, Willie Morgan, Warren McCray, Jr., and Ryan Byrd, and NAYS from Jule C. Wascom and Doug Watson. The minutes do not list which individuals will use the funds or any reimbursement conditions.
