The presenter said participating counties' totals for the last three years are on the spreadsheet and read the key consolidated figures: last year’s total of $984,731 and a proposed total of $1,059,000, which the presenter described as an increase of about $74,000 based on Mako’s CPI recommendation of 2.67%. "Again, that's just a recommendation from Mako. It is not a requirement," the presenter said.
Board members asked for clarification about whether other counties used higher or lower percentages; the presenter said approaches vary and some counties reported increases as low as 2%. The presenter also noted he had extended the spreadsheet to include deputies and other elected officials in the calculations this year.
