At the public hearing, resident Milton Alamo praised attention to drainage but asked why routine ditch maintenance and clearing were not done more thoroughly; administration responded that crews focus on main arteries and that many open ditches are resident responsibilities depending on right‑of‑way. The council discussed sequencing — drainage work first then roadway improvements — and approved the contract unanimously.
