Following an executive session on Aug. 20, the Houston County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to file a petition in court seeking reimbursement from the owner in an animal cruelty case for costs the county incurred boarding the affected animals at the Warner Robins Animal Shelter. County Attorney Tom Hall told commissioners the action is intended to have the owner cover the expenses incurred by the county for boarding.
The executive session was conducted under O.C.G.A. § 50-14-2(1) for attorney-client matters. An executive session affidavit signed by Chairman Dan Perdue documents the closed session and cites the relevant Georgia open-meetings statute.
