Patrick County receives unmodified FY2025 audit; administration highlights hospital opening and service metrics

Auditors from Robinson, Farmer & Cox presented the FY2025 audit and delivered an unmodified (clean) opinion to the Board, indicating the county's financial statements were presented fairly. "The FY2025 audit report, it showed an unmodified clean report," auditor Scott Wickham told the Board during his presentation.
County Administrator Mike McGuinness noted the recent opening of Stuart Community Hospital and reported several departmental updates. Maintenance completed 86 work orders in the period described, and solid-waste operations reported roughly 816 tons sent to the landfill in 2025 with the transfer station receiving 602 weighed tons. The Animal Shelter reported 29 dogs and 19 cats taken in during the period with a number reclaimed, adopted, or transferred to rescue groups. The DMV Select Office reported approximately $1.8 million in revenue for 2025 with the county receiving roughly $84,729 from that program.
