Parks and Recreation Director Luke Williams told the Board that the Stuart Pool breezeway needs repair before the summer season and that the county has already received at least one quote. Director Williams said one contractor estimate, from David Lawson & Son, totals $25,000 and includes a 15% additional charge if deeper demolition of the existing building is required. Clark Brothers provided a separate $27,600 estimate to remove the existing ticket booth, construct a new booth, and repair roofing and siding.
Williams stressed the safety priority: "Getting the breezeway fixed at the pool is crucial to the safety of citizens who use the pool," the director said. The board packet included both estimates, and staff recommended advertising the project for competitive bids before awarding work. No formal award was recorded at the January 12 meeting.
