Roosevelt County commissioners approved multiple public-safety purchases across June meetings. On June 9 the board approved the Sheriff's request to buy 15 Durabooks with mounting hardware from MACO for $74,072.85 as a cost-effective alternative to Panasonic Toughbooks, and later approved the Detention Center's purchase of Guardian RFID software for $5,334.00 the first year (annual renewal $5,270.00). These purchases were approved by motion during the regular June 9 meeting.
At the June 30 meeting the board approved a consolidated 10-year Axon agreement covering body-worn cameras, Tasers, fleet management software, and a virtual reality training suite. The Axon package totals $634,612.58 over 10 years, would provide 31 users access and two VR headsets, and the sheriff’s office projected a savings of $342,360 over the contract term. The board approved that agreement by motion.
