Interstate Engineering presented Task Order 16 for a scrub-seal project on McCabe Road; the work was recommended over a traditional chip seal because of the road’s condition after about 10 years without maintenance. The task order includes roughly $32,000 in design fees and $64,000 for resident project representative services. Commissioners approved the task order and asked the engineer to provide a total cost estimate for inclusion in the 2026–2027 budget, with bidding expected in fall and construction planned for 2027.
John Bach of Interstate Engineering explained the fee breakdown and rationale for the scrub-seal approach; commissioners accepted the recommendation by motion. The board recorded the approval during the June 9 regular meeting and directed staff to incorporate the estimate into the upcoming budget process.
