County staff asked the Board to approve Resolution 26-39, which appropriates the FY2027 budget so spending authority will be effective July 1. Miss McBride explained the resolution "simply tells us, the staff, that they can now spend that money," and walked supervisors through the main fund groups included in the appropriation: the general fund, various special revenue funds (DSS, EMS billing, regional animal shelter, CSA), and school appropriations.
Supervisors asked clarifying questions about special revenue funds and DSS funding levels; Miss McBride noted DSS is funded about 85% by the state and explained why EMS billing revenues are appropriated within a separate fund. A motion to approve Resolution 26-39 was made, seconded and approved by roll-call vote.
