Board removes two categories from advertised tax-rate hearing, citing misadvertisement

The board approved the change on recorded voice/roll-call responses (Miss Robinson: Aye; Mister Fogg: Aye; Mister Edwards: Aye; Gerry Mann: Aye). The Chair said the items will be re-advertised before a future public hearing.
The action was framed by the Chair as a procedural correction to ensure the public has accurate notice before commenting on or acting on those specific rates. The board did not set new advertised rates at the meeting. The Chair also confirmed the county will accept emailed public comments through the clerk at bos.clerk@kwc.gov while the hearings remain open.
The board’s vote amended the agenda earlier in the meeting to reposition the tax-rate public hearing; the amended agenda was approved at the start of the session.
Next steps: the struck tax categories must be re-advertised with corrected notice before the board holds a separate hearing on those rates.
