The school board voted to adopt its FY2027 operating budget and five‑year capital plan after a presentation from Director of Finance Angela Melton.
"On February 10, the school board approved the superintendent's FY 2027 proposed budget... the school operating fund in the amount of $272,403,720," Melton told the board, summarizing county and school funding lines and the approved capital plan. She explained the state budget process was still ongoing and recommended adopting the board-approved budget now and amending later if the state funding picture changes.
Board motions carried for: adoption of the FY2027 operating budget ($272,403,720); adoption of the FY2027–FY2031 capital improvement plan in the amount of $157,920,750 (including $15,827,750 for FY2027); and approval of the FY2027 school nutrition services budget ($10,598,189). Each motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
