Supervisors approve several personnel moves: new dispatcher, pay raise, conservation appointments

At the Jan. 13 meeting the Osceola County Board of Supervisors approved multiple personnel and board-appointment items. Mike Schulte moved to appoint Connie Byers as dispatcher/jailer/TAC at an annual salary of $54,277; LeRoy DeBoer seconded and the motion passed with Schulte, DeBoer, Loring and Helmers voting aye and Jayson Vande Hoef recorded as abstaining. The board also approved a pay increase for dispatcher/jailer Charles Voll to $50,189 on a motion by Vande Hoef, seconded by Loring; that motion carried unanimously.
In other personnel-related actions, Conservation Director Nick Schmalen provided the FY24/25 annual report and the board appointed Schmalen as the 2026 Weed Commissioner. The board also voted to reappoint Ann Byers to the Conservation Board. The minutes list these appointments and the board passed them by recorded motions and votes.
