The Osceola County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution #8 25/26 on Jan. 13 to increase ambulance billing rates and to begin charging for standby and lift-assist calls; board minutes state rates had not changed since 2018. The motion to approve the resolution was moved by Mike Schulte and seconded by Jeff Loring; votes recorded were Ayes—Schulte, Loring, DeBoer, Helmers; Abstain—Jayson Vande Hoef. The resolution text is available at the Auditor’s office or online at the county website.
Separately, board members discussed abandoned or impounded vehicles stored in the ambulance garage parking lot, including wrecked vehicles awaiting insurance pickup. Board members raised the possibility of charging a daily fee for vehicles but expressed concerns about how to bill insurers and who would track the fees. They deferred action pending further staff research.
