The commission unanimously approved AM25-0016 Jan. 8, a county-initiated text amendment to Chapter 110 of the Subdivision Code requiring Planning Department certification on deeds, survey maps, administrative plats and records of survey.
Planning Administrator Milton Ollerton said the change aims to prevent problematic recordings that create parcels too small or otherwise violate county code and create costly corrections after the fact. Ollerton said the department would not charge for the certification but that requiring staff review before recording reduces downstream enforcement and legal conflicts.
Commissioner Sean Priest moved to approve the code update; Commissioner Tom Barry seconded. The motion passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned shortly thereafter.
