Road & Bridge superintendent Mike Carter recommended accepting the low bid from Brent Price Excavating to crush aggregate at the Crystal Pit. The record lists 15,000 tons of 5/8" Aggregate Base at $6.85 per ton, about 15,000 tons of 3/4" Aggregate Base at $5.85 per ton, and mobilization at $4,000, for a total contract price of $194,500. Commissioners approved the contract by motion and roll call.
Carter also presented replacement vehicle quotes for a sign truck with roughly 240,000 miles; the board approved the purchase of a dually LT from Smith's for $61,980. The motions on both items passed with unanimous recorded votes.
