County official outlines soft-opening timeline, signage and broadband for two King William branches

County administration provided a progress update on preparations for the new library locations, saying multiple departments have worked together to move materials and ready the facilities.
"It's been all hands on deck," the county presenter said, thanking staff from building, social services, the commissioner of revenue's office, parks and rec, accounting and others for help moving items from the Sharon Road location. She said exterior signage proofs were approved en route to the meeting and that those signs are expected to arrive by the 27th. "I did approve those days," she said of the signage proofs.
The presenter described infrastructure work: point-to-point broadband hardware was scheduled for delivery on the 20th and IT will install it over the next few days to provide a connection until the final local-provider link is in place. She also reported that a dumpster has been delivered and maintenance will pour a concrete pad and enclose it; custodial coverage is being arranged with a look toward outsourcing in the future.
On furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), the presenter said shelving and some items have been delivered and that a key delivery window is June 22. Despite some supply-chain delays, she said the county is aiming for a soft opening on June 28. When asked if delays would affect a July grand opening, the presenter said, "I don't think so. As long as it sticks to that June 22 timeframe." She added the county will provide updates if state-aid totals are confirmed.
