Commissioner Talton presented a request to add property located at 2141 Hwy 127 to the Water Purchase Agreement between Houston County and the City of Perry so the site can be served for the Apex of Perry development. The board approved the addition with three stipulations: the developer must post a bond covering 125% of construction cost for work performed on the Houston County water system; adherence to the rate structure approved by the Houston County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 19, 2019; and issuance of a utility permit to the City of Perry based on meeting all conditions in the county’s Utility Accommodations policy.
The motion passed unanimously. The action places the property into the water-served area under the existing intergovernmental framework, subject to the bond, rate and permitting conditions recorded in the meeting. Developers and City of Perry officials must meet the stipulated conditions before County water service work proceeds.
