Tony Wilson, the county’s director of public works, presented a slate of facility projects and their current status. He said the Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department bunkroom addition concept includes 14 bunk rooms, a day room, restrooms and equipment storage and is in 35% design with an estimated project budget of $2,300,000. "This concept plan has 14 bunk rooms," Wilson said, adding that the project also includes HVAC replacement and parking work tied to the package.
Wilson outlined a library concept (about 5,000 square feet) with two concept plans and 48 parking spaces; work on a rooftop HVAC replacement at Paul D. Camp in Smithfield was awarded to Hobbs and Associates and is scheduled to be complete before the school year. He invited supervisors to view the renovated Corks Building and noted staff is pursuing multiple grants — including a submitted $1,000,000 direct‑spending grant — that could reduce local costs.
