Court approves two public‑utility‑easement vacations in Precincts 2 and 3

The Travis County Commissioners Court unanimously approved two separate actions to authorize filing instruments vacating public utility easements in Precinct 2 (Travis Landing No. 2, Lots 10 and 10A) and Precinct 3 (Apache Shores Section 2, Lots 1055 and 1056).
Chris Yanez, Development Services director for Transportation & Natural Resources, told the court that utility operators in both areas filed statements of no objection and that TNR staff determined the requests met applicable standards and received no formal opposition. "The utility companies operating in the area have all signed statements on file that they have no objection to the vacation," Yanez said about the Travis Landing request.
At the Apache Shores hearing a nearby resident, Toby Tyler, initially believed the proposed vacation impacted his property but withdrew his objection after staff showed exhibits clarifying lot lines. The court opened and closed both hearings with no callers and approved the actions by unanimous vote.
Court minutes indicate the vacations were intended to allow community improvements in Travis Landing and permit the two Apache Shores lots to function as a single site for construction of a single-family residence. County staff said they will proceed with the ministerial steps to file the required instruments.
