Beaufort County health department seeks to reclassify position to hire two support staff and welcomes new educators

JaNell Octigan told the board the department submitted a reclassification request to downgrade a Public Health Nurse III (PHN III) position into a Medical Office Assistant role so that, "with the same cost for one PHN III, we can hire two Medical Office Assistants." The change is intended to address administrative capacity; the request was presented to the board for information during the Jan. 20 meeting.
Octigan also announced current recruitments for a PHN III (Communicable Disease), a Public Health Education Specialist, and a contract Medical Office Assistant, and welcomed two new staff members: Hannah Bell, School Health Educator, and Cassidy Holbrook, Diabetes Health Educator.
