The Beaufort County Board of Health approved four FY26 budget amendments Jan. 20 totaling $68,422. Health Director JaNell Octigan presented the line items: Opioid Project Support for Prevention Point, $7,000; Minority Diabetes Prevention, $3,654; BLS & Heartsaver, $34; and the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant & Substance Use Program, $57,734. Christy Barndt moved to accept the amendments, Marcus Jones seconded, and the motion passed with all in favor.
Octigan also reviewed the board's FY26 financial status: a total budget of $5,849,009 with year‑to‑date expenditures of $2,634,591.94 (45%) and remaining budget of $3,214,417.06 (55%). Board members had no follow‑up questions on the spending update.
