Sheriff Garth Crowther told commissioners the department handled 668 calls in the county and 17 calls in Antonito in December; he said the department logged 9,180 calls in Conejos County and 346 calls for Antonito for 2025 and filed 3,604 case reports for the year. "the department had 9180 calls for the County and 346 calls for the town of Antonito," the minutes record.
Crowther told the BOCC he is willing to house inmates for Costilla County but has not been able to reach agreement with Sheriff Sanchez, who "doesn't want to change from Archuleta County." He also said Search and Rescue is investigating a Jan. 1 case involving a person from Rio Grande County, that the department received a $5,000 private donation and $2,000 from SLV Federal Bank in Alamosa, and that a new Chevrolet patrol truck is at a dealership for transmission repairs.
