Administrator: Paradise Lane buyer withdrew; new offer to be discussed in closed session

Walker informed the board that after the Board voted at a prior meeting to sell the Paradise Lane property (Tax Map No. 402-14, 318 Paradise Lane, Deltaville), the prospective buyer withdrew the offer the following day. Walker said a newspaper article incorrectly reported the property as sold; staff is addressing a correction. A new offer has been received and will be discussed in closed session; any decision to pursue or accept an offer will require a new public hearing.
The board later convened closed sessions under Virginia Code §2.2-3711(A)(1) for personnel matters and §2.2-3711(A)(3) and (A)(8) for acquisition of real property and consultation with legal counsel. When the board returned to open session, members stated that only lawfully exempted matters were discussed.
