County Administrator Tressesa Martinez told the Conejos County Board of County Commissioners that construction on the courthouse began on Jan. 5 and that RMC has hired a state inspector to ensure the building is brought back to code. She said a representative "from the Courts" wants proof for the State Courts that the county is rebuilding to code and asked the BOCC to request more detailed documentation from RMC.
The board approved December accounts payable and a payment from CTSI to RMC for work completed on the courthouse. The motion to approve the CTSI payment carried 3-0; the transcript records the payment amount as $211,652.84. Commissioners also approved the 2026 salary schedule by a unanimous 3-0 vote. The BOCC said it will press RMC for design and compliance documentation the courts can review.
