Van Buren County supervisors certify turnout for special school election

The resolution, certified by the board acting as the county's ex‑officio Board of Canvassers, records that "One thousand seven hundred sixty‑four (1,764) people voted at the polls on election day. One hundred fifty‑four (154) absentee ballots were accepted for counting. Two (2) provisional ballots were accepted for counting. A total of One thousand nine hundred twenty (1,920) people voted in the Special School Election." The board stated no obvious clerical errors were identified during the canvass.
Chairman Dale House and Supervisors Meek and Richards voted to adopt the resolution by roll call (House — Aye; Meek — Aye; Richards — Aye). County Auditor Lisa Plecker attested the minutes and the resolution as noted in the meeting record. The board's action completes the formal canvass of the Sept. 10 school election as provided under the Code of Iowa.
