Board adopts five-year Capital Improvements Plan, with operating cost additions

Planning staff presented the FY2026–FY2031 Capital Improvements Plan as an advisory tool to help with long-term facilities planning and budget development. Mr. Kretz said projects are scored and prioritized by the CIP Committee and noted the Planning Commission recommended approval 7–0 after asking staff to include operating-cost impacts in project overviews.
Mr. Kretz highlighted major plan elements including public safety radio improvements, county facilities rehabilitation and replacement, school capital needs, and airport projects. The board opened the public hearing; no members of the public spoke. Supervisor Jessie moved to approve the CIP and the board carried the motion by roll call.
