Supervisors adopt draft health insurance premium differential policy after 3–2 vote

The Board of Supervisors reviewed competing drafts of an Employee Health Insurance Premium Differential Policy during the Feb. 10 meeting. Supervisor Jayson Vande Hoef moved, and Supervisor Jeff Loring seconded, to use the "blue highlighted version" of the policy, and the motion carried by a 3–2 vote: ayes Vande Hoef, Loring and Helmers; nays Schulte and DeBoer.
The board directed the county attorney and the county's HR consultant to review the chosen draft and provide additional language if needed, with final adoption to come at the next meeting. The minutes record the motion and the roll-call vote; the board did not finalize the policy text that day, pending legal and HR review.
