Christy Crews, representing Hometown Grants, told the board her firm typically takes about six weeks or longer to prepare grant proposals depending on deadlines and that grant management and reporting are billed separately. Commissioners approved the $5,000 payment from the county’s special projects fund by motion of Commissioner Burdett, seconded by Commissioner Miller; the motion passed 3-0.
Christy said the firm has an 80% award rate and has secured more than $5 million in awarded grants, with $18 million outstanding for decisions; she asked cities to complete questionnaires so her team can prioritize applications. The county asked Clerk Rein to add snow removal and equipment to the next week’s agenda.
