The Houston County Board approved the Board of Elections' request to hire poll workers and to fund training and supplies for the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election. The approved compensation schedule included 17 precinct managers ($175 each), 34 assistant managers ($125 each), 103 clerks ($115 each), training stipends and other election-day positions, with a total cost of $25,155.50.
Commissioner Gottwals presented the request and Chairman Perdue noted that election staff were in training the day of the meeting and that the County had engaged Perry Youth Leadership on voter-registration outreach earlier that day.
