County Manager Juan Vaughan told the Board that four bids had been received and that Emergency Services Director John Rawls reviewed the proposals and recommended Carolina Remount. The Board approved the motion to award the bid, reported as passing 4-0. Vaughan said the remounted ambulance’s anticipated delivery timeframe is approximately 90 to 120 days.
Commissioners were told the cost is covered in this year’s budget; no commissioner requested additional appropriations during the discussion. The approval follows the Board’s review of emergency-services needs amid broader concerns about overtime spending discussed elsewhere on the agenda. The Board did not amend the award; county staff will manage contract execution and delivery scheduling.
