Middlesex EDA authorizes planning grant applications for waterfront access; construction funding seen as unlikely

Anton Webre reported a federal contact suggested construction funding through the BUILD program would be unlikely, and the board instead unanimously authorized Clara at the Planning District Commission to apply for a BUILD planning grant to develop site plans and permitting documents. The board also approved applying to the Virginia Outdoors Foundation for approximately $150,000 to acquire the eastern-most parcel; both motions passed unanimously.
