Public Health Nurse Manager Shawn Mohr told the board two new hires are nearly fully trained, the second‑quarter PHEP deliverables were completed, SHSP grants have been submitted and are awaiting Attorney General review, and the MCH grant renewal process has begun with an anticipated June arrival. Prevention staff continue outreach: Jennifer Cheney spoke at a suicide loss support group, coordinated 3rd and 4th grade prevention classes, delivered QPR training at the Learning Center and cessation classes at the middle and high schools.
Youth Alternatives Director Barb Rice reported four youths are currently in the Youth Alternative Program through the court and six age‑waiver students (ages 16–18) are in the HiSEP program at the Learning Center. Participants continue community service projects including food deliveries, revamping the food pantry and providing child care for a Head Start parent night.
