County, sheriff and project say off‑duty deputies and badging have calmed site traffic

The project presenter told the commission that the developer has worked with Major Deaver and Sheriff Turner to hire off‑duty deputies to patrol the areas around the site during peak times, and that deputies have typically been posted Monday–Friday 6–9 a.m. and 3–6 p.m. "Through Major Deaver and Sheriff Turner, we've able to hire off duty deputies to patrol the areas," the presenter said.
The presenter also described a site badging system that verifies driver's licenses during orientation and conducts frequent spot checks in parking lots; since those measures began they reported only two vehicles turned away and otherwise no further badge-related exclusions. Commissioners discussed whether deputies would enforce off‑highway violations and confirmed deputies are not performing off‑highway enforcement but are focused on site entrance/egress and traffic control. The presenter said the sheriff's department will continue participation while available through COD.
